LGBTQI+ people aged 55+

The Observatory aims to anonymously record experiences of gender bias, age discrimination, and forms of violence experienced by LGBTQI+ individuals aged 55 and over. The data will be used to highlight forms of exclusion and to strengthen interventions and policies in favor of equality, visibility, and access to rights.

Participation is anonymous and voluntary. No personal data that allows for your identification is collected.

This action is part of the project "Di.V.E.S | Diversity, Visibility, Support for LGBTQI+ persons over 55", implemented by Proud Seniors Greece in collaboration with Diotima Centre.

Purpose

The Observatory serves as a public tool for visibility, documentation, and collective advocacy, with respect for the anonymity and dignity of participants. Every experience matters. Every entry contributes to the demand for a fairer and more inclusive framework for care and life, strengthening the collective voice of the community.

Older LGBTQI+ individuals face

Multiple and intersecting forms of exclusion:

  • Discrimination in health and care services.
  • Social isolation and exclusion.
  • Ageism combined with discrimination based on gender identity or sexual orientation.
  • Barriers to accessing support networks and communities.

Why recording your experience matters

What you can record

Incidents regarding:

  • Discrimination or unequal treatment.
  • Verbal, psychological, or physical violence.
  • Exclusion from services, facilities, or social spaces.
  • Rights violations.
  • Experiences in health facilities, care homes, or public services.

Your participation is completely anonymous. No personal data allowing your identification is collected, and the information is used exclusively for research and advocacy purposes.

Research Framework

This survey aims to anonymously record experiences of gender bias, age discrimination, and forms of violence experienced by LGBTQI+ individuals aged 55 and over. This is part of the Di.V.E.S project (Diversity, Visibility, Elderly's Support), implemented by Proud Seniors Greece in collaboration with the Diotima Centre, with the support of the Bodossaki Foundation.

The data will be used to highlight forms of exclusion and to strengthen interventions and policies favoring equality, visibility, and access to rights.

Project identity
